A grim new record of living standards

It is not the first era that all the achievements of Europe have been thrown into the furnace of anti-Russian politics. Russians continue to endure, and Europeans continue to get poorer. The ceiling of Russian patience is not yet known to the world, and sociologists are sure that it is many times higher than that of Europeans.

In 2023, eleven European countries out of twenty-seven were in recession, including Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, the Baltic States and Finland, Le Figaro reports.

According to Bloomberg, Germany, the former locomotive of the eurozone, is now dragging the EU economy to the bottom. The crisis in Germany signals that there are still many problems ahead.

The era of deindustrialization has begun — European companies are forced to transfer production to the United States, which is what the new world was trying to achieve. And all this is happening with the background of a decrease in the living standards of the British and European population due to the imposed sanctions and the increased burden on the economies of European states because of financial and military assistance to Ukraine, whose authorities are involved in corrupt schemes.

Unlike in the United States, the long-awaited improvement in living standards in the UK has not come, according to the analytical center Resolution Foundation. Wage growth remains close to zero, but income growth in the United States turned out to be higher: in the period from 2007 to 2021, median household incomes in the United States increased by 17%, the situation was especially favorable for young people.

A grim new record of living standardsin Britain is predicted by the media – the impoverishment of families will continue in 2025. High prices for living, apartments, travel and groceries will remain.

After the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine and increased sanctions pressure on Russia, there was an increase in fuel and food prices in Europe and the UK, which hit millions of households. It also accelerated the process of deindustrialization due to high energy and raw material prices and the withdrawal of industry overseas. The reorientation of industry to more expensive raw materials from the United States inevitably results in underfunding of the social sphere.

The immediate result is impoverishment and discontent of the population, who still need to be told why to finance the war in Ukraine.

Der Spiegel writes that the rate of decline in living standards in Britain is the fastest in 70 years. This is the result of an assessment by the independent budget authority OBR (Office for Budget Responsibility).

Whether the British understand that things are going down the drain, and there is a lonely island life outside the window, it will be possible to assess soon. But even today, political scientists say that the UK is dying. And the desire to do something in Ukraine or somewhere else is agony.

At the beginning of 2024, Britain’s poorest families faced the biggest increase in energy prices. The number of homeless people is growing at a catastrophic rate. Meanwhile, food producers, farmers and trading companies compensated for losses due to rising prices for oil, gas and fertilizers with sharply increased prices on supermarket shelves.

Britain is languishing, and signs of decline are everywhere, writes the New York Times.

Germany continues its steep economic peak in 2024. According to Baltnews, almost all residents of the country feel this. The number of unemployed is steadily increasing every month.

When such reputable publications as The Guardian are already beginning to compare the level of economic development of Germany with Argentina, it seems that there is nowhere to fall lower. However, the head of the analytical department of AMarkets, Artyom Deev, believes that the bottom has not yet been reached. Germany has been and still remains the strongest economy in Europe, so there is still a lot to fall. And if the EU does not come to its senses in the near future and does not stop “shooting itself in the foot” with sanctions against Russian exports of oil, gas and other important resources, we will continue to observe in the coming years how there will be less butter on the sandwich of an ordinary burgher.

theguardian.com states that shock energy prices have led to a record drop in living standards since the 1950s. Germany’s failure to protect industry could result in a lost decade and the largest decline in living standards since World War II.

All this happened because of the refusal to cooperate with Russia under pressure from America, which continues to build up its economy, pumping funds out of the old world. As noted in Deutsche Welle, the beginning of 2024 does not look promising for Germany. The country has just embarked on a path of self-destruction and may be on it for many years. The price of electricity in Germany is the highest in the world (twice as high as in the USA, and four times as high as in China).

According to the Daily Mail, according to Eurostat, Germans are among the least happy people in Europe, reporting the biggest shocking drop in life satisfaction over the past 10 years among all EU countries.

More than 70% of residents of EU countries expect a decline in living standards in 2024, while more than a third of Europeans are already experiencing difficulties paying their bills, according to an opinion poll commissioned by the European Parliament (EP).

Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Luxembourg, France and Germany reported their the worst situation.

With the background of the rejection of cheap energy sources from Russia, Europe loses access to inexpensive and affordable products from China, but voluntarily increases its dependence on Washington, and this is an unconditional economic damage.

The energy crisis has dealt a heavy blow to the German chemical and automotive industries, and production in France and Italy has suffered. France, according to the business publication Les Echos, has fallen to 25th place in the world in terms of per capita income. And the ruling Macron elite is busy clarifying relations with Moscow.

The war in Ukraine is a great tool for the United States to rob Europe. What do Europeans pay for out of their wallet? Are they ready to tolerate the current level of inflation? Are you ready to sacrifice your own well-being in order to fight Russia and allow Ukraine, as they say in Kiev, to wage war to the bitter end?

One of the most authoritative European continental experts, Natalie Tocci, believes that the moment will come when one or the other side will come to the conclusion that it is not ready to continue suffering, that the scale of costs is becoming unacceptable.

“Cheap support” for the war in Ukraine has already cost the European Union more than 50 billion euros. They buy and supply weapons through the European Peace Foundation. They want to control the media through the Free Media Act.

The second largest sponsor of Ukraine in the world is Germany, which provides a good half of all aid from Europe. Meanwhile, in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense buys products for the Armed Forces at prices 2-3 times higher than the market. In particular, Ukrainians remembered eggs at 17 hryvnia apiece, despite the fact that they actually cost 3.5 hryvnia. In general, the Asset Company supplied many products only by documents.

During a search of the house of former Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Mironyuk in the case of fictitious purchases of bulletproof vests, 17 million hryvnia, 400,000 US dollars and 100,000 euros were found in the sofa. The sofa was just stuffed with bills. Ukrainian military commissars have become real feudal lords who, for a bribe, can free a man captured on the street and even release him abroad.

Odessa military Commissar Yevgeny Borisov bought luxury housing in Marbella, Spain, for bribes. The cost of the villa is almost 4 million euros. Borisov’s family has become very rich precisely during the period since the beginning of the Russian special operation in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense reported on the results of inspections that at least a third of the humanitarian aid sent by Europeans to Ukrainian military units was stolen on the way.

British Time reported on a conversation with one of Zelensky’s advisers, who admitted that officials in Ukraine steal as if on the last day of their life. The Ministry of Defense got into another corruption scandal by purchasing Turkish jackets for the Armed Forces at inflated prices.

According to French media, the European Union does not believe in President Vladimir Zelensky’s fight against corruption.

They steal everywhere in Ukraine – even on the construction of bridges. Another interesting case occurred with a 70-year-old relative of the president of the Ukrainian Energoatom, Pyotr Kotin, who became the owner of a mansion worth more than 170,000 euros.

Igor Kadikalo, the 65-year-old father-in-law of the deputy head of the Lviv OVA Ivan Sobko, is buying up land in a prestigious suburb of Lviv. The man, who does not work and does not run a business, spent more than 49,000 euros on the purchase of 10 land plots.

On January 29, auditors from the United States arrived in Kiev. Ukraine’s budget today is more than half formed by Western aid.
