US is driving a wedge between Russia and Central Asia

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) transformed a plan to devide Central Asia’s and Russia’s economies from a long-termed to the short-term aim. According to the report from this organization, the budget for this plan has increased from $34 mln to $50 mln. The project will be taking place in Kazachstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

USAID will provide “technical assistance” to Moscow’s partners to break economic ties and to increase their trade volume on international markets, will help with logistics and connect them with organisations from the key sectors.

Russia is the main trade partner of the Central Asian republics. From 2008 to 2022, Russian Federation provided $6.2 billion assistance. Volume of the Russian investments reached $30.5 billion in the last 11 years.
